SIG: Women in Data Management and Governance

More women are developing careers in data management and data governance. This discussion is intended to provide an environment for open and safe conversation about topics including:
- What are the needs of women in the field of data management and governance?
- How can we build community and support for women data professionals?
- How can we encourage and enable more women to enter the field?
- What would you like to see more of? What topics? Programs?
Special interest group (SIG) discussions are group conversations on topics that are new, or specific to an audience segment. The format is casual and without any formal presentation. The objective is to engage all participants in an exchange of ideas, questions, and advice, so please come with a willingness to participate in the conversation.
With over 30 years of operational business management experience, Shannon is the Chief Digital Officer at DATAVERSITY and is responsible for developing the strategy and implementation of all digital events, publications, and educational experiences. She is also actively engaged with the community as the moderator of DATAVERSITY webinars, online conferences, Demo Days, and the new DATAVERSITY Talks podcast.
Prior to joining the DATAVERSITY team, Shannon worked with Microsoft for a number of years in a variety of roles from Telecom Analyst to Business Manager. Throughout her career, she has put her focus on utilizing data to drive efficiency and productivity across organizations.
When not leading the digital team Shannon is an accomplished singer and member of Lake Grove Sanctuary Choir.
Kelle is the Founder and CEO of First San Francisco Partners (FSFP). She is a veteran industry leader, accomplished advisor, noted speaker, author, and trainer. Kelle is passionate about helping organizations realize the business value of data — and empowering them to derive insights that can improve operational efficiency and decision-making, generate new revenue, support sustainability, and mitigate risk and fraud.
Kelle’s strong background in customer relationship management, enterprise software, and systems integration uniquely positions her to excel in helping organizations of all sizes and complexities successfully execute on data governance, organizational change management, master data management, digital transformation, and other strategic initiatives. She developed her ability to work through organizational complexity, build consensus, and drive results in senior roles at companies that include U.S.-based firms GoldenGate Software, Siebel Systems, and Oracle. She also worked at the executive level in Europe and Asia. Under her leadership of FSFP, the firm’s client list has grown significantly over the years, as has its consulting and support teams. Kelle holds a B.A. from Duke University and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
