ersity.net/sessionPop.cfm?confid=157&proposalid=14528\nDashboards are visua
l tools that tell stories through data and generate actionable insights tha
t help an organization achieve its goals. However, building a dashboard doe
s not guarantee its adoption. Roughly 25% of employees actively use BI/Anal
ytics tools, and this number has not gone up much in the last 7-8 years, ev
en though 50% of data and analytics leaders say BI/Analytics usage has incr
eased by a lot.\n\nThere are many reasons why the adoption rate stays so lo
w – Misaligned Metrics, Bad Visuals, Overwhelming Pages, Slow Changin
g data, Lack of Training, etc. A great dashboard requires strategic plannin
g and design thinking. Knowing your audience helps you determine what KPIs/
data you need; knowing what story you want to tell helps you identify
which visualization type to use. An effective design helps you tell a
compelling story and leads to better adoption.\n\nIn this session, we will
cover three key areas of creating an effective Dashboard:\n\n
What kind of Dashboard do I need – Operational, Analytical, Strategic
, or Ad-hoc?\n	What visualization(s) should I use to convey the message?\n
How should I design the layout of the dashboard so it's easy to follow?
